The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining satisfactory standards of employee competency, appearance, and integrity. Contractor shall be responsible for taking disciplinary action with respect to employees as necessary. All employees, representatives, and officials of the Contractor shall be expected to maintain favorable relations with the public and SMUD officials and employees by practicing courtesy in all contacts. Any display of offensive, discourteous, or rude behavior toward the SMUD officials, employees, or members of the public, by the Contractor or any of their employees or representatives, may be cause for contract termination. Alcoholic beverages and the use of controlled substances are prohibited. Contract personnel are not to show up for work under the influence, or in any other condition, which will detract from the performance of their duties. Use of any form of drug or narcotic on duty or being under the influence when appearing for duty is prohibited.
