This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Province of Nova Scotia (the “Province”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of a Standing Offer for RedHat Products and Support to the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services, as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).  This RFP is being conducted pursuant to the Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and Procurement Manual.  

The Nova Scotia Digital Service (NSDS) branch of the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services (SNSIS) was created to apply internet-era ways of working to provide services to Nova Scotians.   

NSDS is a leader in transforming the way government delivers services to citizens in the Internet era, and supporting the province's priority of quality health care for Nova Scotians.

•Provides public servants with the digital services and tools they need to enable collaboration, add value, and be effective  

•Supports and enables the Nova Scotia public service to use new approaches to deliver better government in the internet era.  

RedHat Enterprise Linux is one of two standard operating systems approved for use in Government of Nova Scotia.  There are over 500 RedHat Linux hosts in place supporting a number of applications including the Province’s SAP installation.   

The current standing offer for RedHat products expires this fall and there is a requirement to establish a new standing offer to facilitate the renewal of current licence subscriptions, obtain new subscriptions and additional RedHat products, as well as support and training for the products in use.
