Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services supports the public sector in delivering programs and services to both internal and external clients of the Province. The department was created on June 3, 2019 as an amalgamation of the former departments Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services. This realignment was created to ensure a more efficient delivery of services to our citizens. Insurance, Risk Management, and Business Continuity is a division within the Corporate Affairs branch. This division is responsible for procuring all insurance, handling claims management, providing risk management advice as well as corporate business continuity plans for all 18 departments as well as various boards, agencies and commissions.
 
The successful proponent will incorporate the broadest available insurance terms, conditions, and services at a competitive cost. To achieve this objective, we require an insurance broker that will establish policies with insurers that have a high degree of ingenuity, knowledge, skill, diligence, and understanding of the risk management and insurance process with available markets for all current policies set out in Appendix E as well as miscellaneous polices that may be required. This is a request for proposal for annual fees related to insurance broker services, involving future insurance purchases and risk management expertise. Insurance policies shall be purchased at nil commission. All policies in Appendix E shall be procured and take effect on the April 1 of each year of the contract beginning April 1, 2020. All miscellaneous policies shall be procured and take effect on the date requested by the Province.
   
This is not a request for insurance quotations. Insurance brokers must not contact insurance companies or markets for quotations at this time. Any attempt to restrict market availability at this time will be grounds for elimination from consideration of this request for proposals.
