Posting Summary
This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by the Province of Nova Scotia (the “Province”) on behalf of the Department of Finance and Treasury Board (FTB) - Pensions Division, for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements. This RFI is being conducted pursuant to the Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and Procurement Manual.

The Province consists of multiple departments including FTB which, is responsible for government’s spending and revenue. FTB prepares the annual provincial budget and other financial documents and publishes and maintains the information for public access. FTB is also in charge of program areas, like insurance, credit unions and trusts, and the Utility and Review Board. The goal of this RFI is to gather current market information regarding available technologies, functionality and pricing which will assist FTB in making key decisions around the replacement of their current Pensions Benefit Information System (PBIS). The Province uses their current PBIS to store and track detailed financial and non-financial data about registered pension plans within Nova Scotia. In addition to tracking pension plan data, PBIS also performs numerous financial calculations and data checks to help ensure the long-term health and viability of registered pension plans.

More information about the Pensions division can be found on their website at: https://www.novascotia.ca/finance/en/home/pensions/forms/default.aspx
