Posting Summary
This Request for Information (“RFI”) is an invitation by the Province of Nova Scotia (the “Province”) to prospective respondents to submit proposals for the provision of a Computer Aided Dispatch System to the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services (“SNS-IS”), Division of Public Safety and Field Communications (“PSFC”), for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements. This RFI is being conducted pursuant to the Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and Procurement Manual.

The Province consists of multiple departments, agencies, boards, and commissions. The Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services (SNS-IS) is a department within the Province that administers public-facing and intergovernmental services. The goal of this RFI is to gather information about Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software features and functionality from interested CAD software vendors who have proven enterprise CAD systems currently installed in large Public Safety Agencies. The PSFC is interested in learning about vendors that have the comprehensive capacity to provide software, installation, training, conversion, and other services as required.

Public Safety and Field Communications is responsible for the administration of the Trunked Mobile Radio Services agreement for the Nova Scotia Government. There are 20,000 users of our province wide two-way radio network, including those working for 14 provincial departments and agencies, RCMP H Division, municipal public safety users (police and fire), federal law enforcement, and the volunteer public safety community. Many other public sector organizations also use the system in Nova Scotia. PSFC has overall stewardship and management responsibilities for the network on behalf of all users at all levels of government.

The closing date and time is now September 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm Atlantic Time.

Deadline for questions was August 31st, 2020.
