o    General Scope: The Charging as a Service vendor will provide advisory services, project management, electrical and civil design, network, hardware, and on-going maintenance of EVSE installations.

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) requests proposals from experienced parties to deliver commercial electric vehicle (EV) advisory services, electrical engineering/design services, and project management services, as well as EV Charger network and hardware and ongoing maintenance, to support SMUD’s new Charging as a Service (CaaS) Program (the “Program”). The Program is designed to support fleets, workplaces, and multifamily dwellings considering installation of charging infrastructure to support their electric vehicle charging needs and is described in more detail below.  SMUD intends to award one contract to execute the full scope of work detailed in this RFP. The contract will be for a three-year period. SMUD’s Program will enable the switch to “electric fuel” by providing comprehensive advisory services, including technical evaluation and cost estimates, to commercial customers. Where up-front costs are a concern, customers can participate in the new program at no or low up-front cost to design, install, and even maintain their electric fueling solution in exchange for a monthly service fee.

SMUD requests proposal from experienced parties to deliver a “One SMUD” experience for customers under this new Program. Below is a high-level description of the Program components.
