SMUD is looking for a consultant to support our development of an Integrated Distributed Resource Plan (IDRP) by the end of 2024. The IDRP will assess the impact and system needs for the distribution system of implementing SMUD’s Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and the expected levels of Distribution Energy Resources (DERs) that will impact our system in the 2025-2035 period.
We are looking for a technical consultant with extensive experience in DER technologies, DER modeling, and that possess knowledge of California and federal policy applicable to DERs and municipal utilities.  The study should cover the following key technologies:  Energy Efficiency (EE), Demand Response (DR), Behind-the-meter (BTM) Solar PV; Electric Vehicles (EVs), BTM Storage, EV Charging stations, Heat pump water heaters, and Heat pump space heaters.
